Sometimes it helps …
Sometimes it helps to take all of your fish out before adding the new fish and then rearrange all of you rock work and decorations. After that you can add you old fish and your new fish to the tank at the same time. To your damsels it will seem they are in a whole new environment and they wont have any territory to defend.

It really depends …
It really depends on your tank size. Try adding other fish and keep your eye on them. If there is a problem I would get rid of the damsels. There are several fish that will hold their own to the damsels though. Tangs will defend themselves, Also rabbit fish, any species of clownfish (just not too small), dwarf lion fish, and any other small semi aggressive fish.
