Get a feel for the “golden oldie” days of agriculture at the 31st Annual Camp Creek Threshers Antique Machinery and Threshing Show. This DVD contains video and photographs of Farmall, International Harvester, and John Deere tractors, water pumps, a saw mill, a corn sheller, balers, steam engines, a miniature railroad, and other antique farm equipment. This years theme was Farmall, but there are many other models of tractors in the show.

What show would be complete without a good old-fashioned threshing demonstration? From the 1800’s to the early 1900’s this was the way that the grain was harvested from the plant. An outfit would consist of a threshing machine and a separate tractor to power it. Wheat, oats, and other crops were fed into the threshing machine by hand and pitchfork where the grain was separated from the rest of the plant.

John Deere, McCormick Deering, Allis Chalmers, Case, Rumely, Minneapolis-Moline, American Harvester, Oliver, Catepiller, and others can be seen. Several hundred gas tractors and crawlers and several steam engines can be seen in action each year. These are the tractors that ushered in modern farming to the United States. Besides the many pieces of equipment to be powered by these great machines there is also the daily parade of power which is always a great crowd pleaser.

This DVD contains 3 videos. The exhibits video is 15 minutes long. The tractor show is 30 minutes long, and the slide show is 5 minutes long. That’s a total of 50 minutes of video footage.

World War One: Scenes of Army Soldiers and The Red Cross

Posted by admin

This WWI era film shows how the American Red Cross reacts to disaster. The men of this organization will spend their days stockpiling trucks that will be ready in a moments notice to spring into action. These men live in conditions much like an army base. They will shower and shave outside. They eat in a large hall after waiting in long lines. The livestock roams the camp until they are needed. Even inspections from superiors take place. Once an emergence is declared, the men jump into places. Waves of trucks with supplies will head out to the rescue. The Red Cross goes out and finds the wounded and brings them back on beds. They use the same trucks to bring back the men. Once back at base, the wounded men are unloaded, and the Red Cross waits for the next call.
