Scott and Carla Moore are young producers who live near Bartley Nebraska and are corn and soybean producers and raise some cattle. The operation has been in the Moore family for three generations and they continue to look for news ways to protect the environment and provide consumers with a safe food supply.

The Energy Independent Farm is a new approach, where farmers will be able to generate their own energy to run their farm and agricultural equipment. And all of this will be done using Hydrogen, 100% generated from renewable resources, which farmers have plenty of.

The Program was established in 1998, and is hosted by ICARDAs Regional Office in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The activities of the Program over the last ten years have been very positively evaluated by an independent External Review in 2008.
Achievements were made in germplasm improvement, seed supply systems, cropping systems and agricultural diversification, integrated system of livestock and fodder production, integrated on-farm soil, water and salinity management, conservation of plant genetic resources, small ruminants breed characterization, socioeconomic and policy research. The Programs efforts for capacity development and in strengthening the regional and international cooperation are well recognized by the NARS partners.
