Winching a Lawn Tractor Into the Cart

Posted by admin

In this video Dave and I are loading a junky tractor into the flatbed cart. We added a floor and a portable 2000lb electric winch onto the big cart we bought from Tractor Supply Co for the purpose of hauling lawn tractors. This Sears Companion had a locked transaxle and stripped steering gear, so it would have been hard to move otherwise. This setup has been a real time (and back) saver, and I don’t know how we did without it. I sped up the video in one part becaue the winch takes about 2.5 …

In northern Australia at the beginning of World War II, an English aristocrat inherits a cattle station the size of Maryland. When English cattle barons plot to take her land, she reluctantly joins forces with a rough-hewn stock-man to drive 2,000 head of cattle across hundreds of miles of the country’s most unforgiving land, only to still face the bombing of Darwin, Australia, by the Japanese forces that had attacked Pearl Harbor only months earlier. In 1939, the aristocratic Lady Sarah Ashley travels from Great Britain to Australia to meet her husband Maitland Ashley in northern Australia. The husband’s drover comes to the city of Darwin to bring Sarah to their farm; however, when they reach Faraway Downs Farm, they find that Maitland was murdered. Sarah befriends Nullah, who tells her that the administrator Neil Fletcher is stealing her cattle; has killed her husband; and is working for the cattle baron King Carney. Sarah fires Fletcher and his men and together with Drover, Nullah and a group of loyal employees, they ride together to take the cattle to supply the army and win a tender in times of war. But the ambitious Fletcher has other intentions and uses Nullah to press Sarah.

David Brown Tractors on Film DVD

Posted by admin

Part One of this popular DVD series. David Brown used film extensively to promote their products, introduce new ideas and keep their dealers and customers up to date. This video uses original David Brown footage to trace the history of their tractors from the original VAK-1, designed in the 1930s, right up to the 1410 and 1412 machines, the last to be built to David Brown specification, which were still coming out of the Melksham factory in 1980.

Machines featured include the legendary Cropmaster, the 25 and 30 series, Taskmaster industrial and airfield machines, the lightweight 2D, a 40TD crawler, 990 and 880 Implematics, three 1970s Highway Tractors and the Selectamatic range up to and including the 1200.

Every major colour variation is illustrated, including a red 770 Selectamatic, and the later joint Case/David Brown livery. Technical innovations such as Traction Control, Livedrive and the Hydra-shift are introduced, along with the less-successful Autodrive automatic transmission.

David Brown Tractors on Film is a record of the machines as the company wanted them to be seen - as products that helped modernise British agriculture.
